Most of you know that I am an avid reader. I read a ton. Sometimes 3-4 books a week (it depends on if I get the kids to bed on time!). I like all kinds of books. The good old Twilight Series got me reading again a few years ago (didn’t that get everyone reading?) and I have not stopped since. I try to post most of my good reads on Pinterest and I know a few of you have found me there. I read so much it is hard to keep up with posting my books but I promise I will keep trying (I have 2 kids that need me too, remember?)
I like to read all kinds of books. I get on a paranormal kick and read that for a week or two (Dean Koontz and Stephen King) then it switches over to the paranormal romance (Karina Halle is my favorite but I also love J.R. Ward and Karen Marie Moning) and then to Romance (E.L. James- yep I said it) and then crime (James Patterson), then true crime (Anne Rule) and I could keep going but just check out my Pinterest Book Board.
So, my little readers… I want to share with you my new favorite book (Driven by K. Bromberg) and it happens to be written by a friend of mine, K. Bromberg. First let me say that I am a pretty tough book critic. I am critical and I don’t like cheesy and I hate it when authors make their characters say dumb phrases people would never say in real life. I want it to be authentic and real and I want to bond with the characters. I am not a huge fan of the “happily ever after” but I know a lot of you are. I want it to be unpredictable and keep me on the edge of my seat. I am a sucker for a good love story but I get bored easily. Not this time. I was sucked in from the very start. I was so into it I couldn’t put it down. I HAD to know what happened next. Let me tell you, I lost a lot of sleep those 2 nights I was reading it. I couldn’t go to sleep if I wanted to. I know it was Rylee on that thrill ride with the smokin’ hot Colton Donavan but I felt like it was me that fell out of that storage closet!
If you want to laugh and cry, fall in love and get frustrated while your heart is warmed and then stomped on, then read DRIVEN! Not only is it a great story, but it well written. I was a little nervous when our friend Shurie told me I should read it. She knows how much I read and she had just finished it. I told her I would read it but not to tell K. (my mysterious friend who now goes by her first initial). I figured if she didn’t know I read it then we wouldn’t have to talk about it. Well, let me tell you sister, I starting sending out emails to my little readers and talking about it on Facebook before I had even gotten half way (yep, it’s that good).
I have been asked what it is about so here is the jist:
Rylee is a strong, independent woman who works with an organization that provides group homes for boys (orphans and wards of the court). She meets the sexy, hard to resist race car driver named Colton and he wants her. Rylee has a past and so does Colton.
That is all I am giving away. You will have to read it for yourself.
I have been so excited about the success of Driven. K and I have been emailing each other about the book and I asked her if I could do an on camera interview with her (I have to stop emailing her so she can write because we want more books). She said yes and here is our 2 part interview. Don’t worry there are not any spoilers in the interview. We had so much fun doing the interview. You can tell we (K. actually composed herself quite nicely before the camera started to roll) were laughing and having a good time.
I hope you enjoy the interview and let me know how you like Driven.
